Hailing from Clay City, Kentucky, lowkey original is a seasoned music producer whose eclectic sound blends the rhythmic grooves of Old School Boom Bap and G-Funk with the smooth vibes of Yacht Rock and the timeless funky rhythm section of 70s classic rock.
With almost four decades of experience, lowkey original has honed a unique sound that resonates with both old-school aficionados and modern individuals. His journey in music production has seen collaborations with artists like Perfect Pete and Young Hump from Digital Underground and multiple artists from Ohio and Kentucky, including SwollTron, his group with SP Gainz.
Drawing inspiration from legends like Digital Underground, EPMD, Gang Starr to Michael McDonald and Steely Dan, lowkey original's productions are a tapestry of rich, layered beats, funky basslines, and smooth melodies that transport listeners to a different era while reaching toward the future. Currently, lowkey original is dedicated to releasing a preview video of a new song every Friday. He plans to score movies and TV, release instrumental collections and produce projects for artists he respects.
